WHY DID GOD MAKE YOU RICH?

You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
2 Corinthians 9:11 NIV84

18 Command [those who are rich] to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 1 Timothy 6:18

GOD HAS BLESSED ME WITH MORE THAN I NEED. I’M RICH. I WILL NOT TRUST IN RICHES BUT IN HIM WHO RICHLY PROVIDES. BECAUSE I HAVE MORE, I WILL GIVE MORE.

TRULY RICH PEOPLE GIVE

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Malachi 3:10a

TITHING TEACHES ME TO PUT GOD _______________.

As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others.” Luke 21:1-3

Main Idea:
God has blessed me with more than I need. I’m rich. I will not trust in riches, but in Him who richly provides. Because I have more, I will give more.

Key Questions:
Describe a time when you gave something to bless someone else and in return you were also blessed.
What blessings have you seen from tithing?
If you’re not tithing, what strategy do you have for giving?
How are you going to be more generous in your giving?

With your Bible or Bible App, read and discuss 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, 1 Timothy 6:18, Malachi 3:10, and Luke 21:1-3.

Do you think God really needs our money?
Why or why not?
How did your parents’ attitude toward giving affect your own?
Is God truly first in your life? If not, what are you going to do about that question?

If someone were to look at your checkbook and how you spend your money, what would it say about your heart?
